The Knight’s Vault is hosting a sword-making demonstration and presentation on Scottish Medieval weapons
Scotland’s leading licensed sword seller, The Knight’s Vault, is hosting an event for those working in the tourism and hospitality industry on Wednesday 22nd February from 3pm – 7pm at their store in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket.
Guests will receive a presentation from shop owner Colin Hope on the background of The Knight’s Vault and information on their unique products. The Knight’s Vault manager and Scotland’s only female bladesmith Charis Fleming will be showing guests how to make a Sgian Dubh and there will also be a sword-making demonstration from local bladesmith Greg Marr. This is the first event of its kind for The Knight’s Vault and the team are looking to roll it out as a consumer event in the future.
The Knight’s Vault, home to the biggest display of commercial armoury in the UK, is the only Outlander sword retailer in the UK. As well as offering a range of swords inspired by Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, World of Warcraft and Assassin’s Creed, Scottish Highland swords and reproductions of Samurai and Viking swords are available, plus replica medieval helmets, antiques, short blades, handmade jewellery and surname history posters. Most of the swords carried by The Knight’s Vault are handmade in Scotland.
Colin Hope, owner of The Knight’s Vault, says: “Many of our customers are tourists, so it’s great to be able to show those working in Edinburgh’s tourism and hospitality industry what The Knight’s Vault offers and trying on a medieval helmet or sword for size. There’s nothing else like The Knight’s Vault in Scotland and we’re excited to show just how unique our product range is. After all, it’s not every day you get a live sword-making demonstration!”
