The Chester Hotel’s executive chef Kevin Dalgleish makes it through to quarter finals
Kevin Dalgleish, executive chef at The Chester Hotel in Aberdeen, appeared on this week’s MasterChef: The Professionals TV show which aired on BBC Two.
Now in its ninth series, MasterChef: The Professionals is a competitive cooking show where professional chefs battle it out to be crowned the champion. Kevin participated in the heats, making it through to the first quarter final which aired on Thursday 10th November on BBC Two.
Kevin, originally from the Scottish Borders, currently oversees award-winning IX Restaurant at Aberdeen’s Chester Hotel. Classically trained at London’s The Savoy, Kevin has over 20 years’ experience which includes leading the kitchen team at Ackergill Tower.
Kevin Dalgleish, MasterChef: The Professionals contestant and executive chef at The Chester Hotel, says: “I was delighted to be asked to take part in BBC Two's MasterChef: The Professionals series. It’s every chef’s dream and it was by far one of the most challenging things in my career to date. The competition and calibre of entries gets stronger each year and I’ll take away so many positive things from being involved, in particular the importance of keeping things as simple as possible under such stressful conditions. Fine dining for a full restaurant or wedding party of 200 feels so much more relaxing now! I’m really grateful for the opportunity and wouldn’t hesitate to do it all again.”
Graham Wood, owner of The Chester Hotel, says: “Kevin is a hugely dedicated and well respected senior member of our team and we were all rooting for him during the show. It's a great accomplishment getting through to the quarter final and we know it's been a very challenging, yet positive, experience for him. We are all very proud!”
MasterChef: The Professionals, airs Tuesdays to Thursdays at 8pm on BBC Two.
