Promoting medical education

ASME seeks to promote high quality research into medical education and provide opportunities for developing medical educators, as well as advising governmental and other organisations on medical education matters. It also aims to disseminate good evidence-based educational practice and develop relationships with other organisations and groupings in healthcare.

ASME works with Wiley Blackwell to publish the monthly journal Medical Education and the quarterly journal The Clinical Teacher. It has also produced the medical education textbooks Understanding Medical Education and Evidence, Theory and Practice.

Niche Works has worked with ASME on two levels; initially to develop a sound marketing plan by reviewing the company's current position and working through the marketing planning process with the team. Following several months of planning, which included detailed strategic assessments into ASME's competitors, customer analysis, segmentation and customer service journey, a strategic and tactical plan emerged to help grow the business and maintain focus on what is most profitable and accessible in terms of new business.

Core objectives in business development were identified as well as key areas for improving the service and product offering to existing and potential members of ASME. Niche Works currently also provides PR support in the form media relations and social media marketing to raise the profile of ASME's events and awards, monthly e newsletter fulfillment and on-going strategic support and development. In addition, Niche Works also supports the special interest groups JASME and TASME which have differing requirements. 

Niche Works has worked with ASME since 2013.
