Vintage Vibes is a charitable partnership between LifeCare Edinburgh and The Broomhouse Centre that aims to tackle loneliness and isolation in the over 60s. By matching volunteers to their VIPs (Very Important Pensioners) based on personal interests and compatibility, Vintage Vibes combats isolation directly through weekly visits and additional events for their VIPs to socialise with others.
We worked with Vintage Vibes to develop and promote their Cosy Christmas campaign. The campaign encouraged people to send a personalised Christmas card to Vintage Vibes’ VIPs to help tackle loneliness at Christmas.
The campaign ran in the lead-up to Christmas 2017 with Gail Porter secured as an ambassador to help put a face to the campaign and raise awareness. Coverage was received in national and local publications including the Sunday Post, The Scotsman and several pieces of coverage in the Edinburgh Evening News. A live TV interview with Gail Porter and the Vintage Vibes’ team was organised with STV News and for STV Live at Five programme, and the campaign was mentioned on radio stations including Heart Radio and Forth One.
The Vintage Vibes’ team beat their estimated target number of cards received by over 150%. Incredibly, cards were requested from all over the world including Canada, Switzerland, Ireland, Wales and England.
